OUR PEOPLE

Parents are the heart of CADRE

CADRE is powered by the vision, leadership, and courage of Black and Brown parents in South Los Angeles. The parent leaders of South LA are not just participants in this work. They are the architects of it. From frontline organizers to our staff, board, and supporters, every person connected to CADRE shares one conviction: families must be at the center of shaping schools and communities. Together, we are building a future where every child is treated with dignity, every parent is respected, and every voice carries real power.

OUR PARENTS

Parents can join the movement and grow their leadership with CADRE.

The foundation of our movement. Parents turn lived experience into power and lead the fight for justice in South LA.

CADRE’s parent leaders bring lived experience, vision, and determination to the fight for educational justice. They are the core of our organizing, leading campaigns, holding schools accountable, and modeling what parent power looks like in action. Many started as parents navigating an unjust system on their own, fighting for their children in schools that too often dismissed their voices. Through CADRE, they found community, developed their leadership, and became powerful advocates not just for their own families but for every child in South Los Angeles. Their knowledge is not theoretical. It comes from school board meetings, IEP battles, suspension hearings, and years of showing up when it was hard. That is what makes their leadership so powerful and so necessary.

OUR STAFF
