Mission<\/span><\/h1>\n

Our mission is to solidify and advance parent leadership to ensure that all children are rightfully educated regardless of where they live. We seek to effect policy change and mobilize political will through new parent participation models that preserve and expand the right to education for all South LA children and youth.<\/span><\/p>\n

Vision<\/span><\/h1>\n

Our vision is that schools will respect and cultivate the humanity, collective spirit and resilience of Black and Latino families, and contribute to a shared vision of South LA as a unified community that has power and self-determination.<\/p>\n

This would mean South LA schools that:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Include and respect the cultures of their families and communities<\/li>\n
  • Genuinely engage parents in decision-making regardless of race, income, language, immigration status, or age<\/li>\n
  • Actively maintain equal power with parents who effectively hold them accountable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    And CADRE as a South LA community-based, independent, parent-led organization that makes parent power a strong, organized, and permanent force to be reckoned with:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Changing the perception and treatment of South LA parents<\/li>\n
    • Countering racism towards South LA parents<\/li>\n
    • Protecting the civil and human rights of South LA parents and their families, especially their right to dignity, education, and participation<\/li>\n
