The Next 3 Years (2013 – 2016)
- Full implementation of LAUSD’s “School Discipline and School Climate Bill of Rights” resolution and “School-Wide Positive Behavior Support Discipline Foundation Policy”, with proactive discipline, effective alternatives to classroom/school removals, integrated parent participation, and consistent monitoring practiced at all schools
- Significant decrease in student suspensions and involuntary transfers, and increase in high school graduation and college-going rates in South LA schools, and for African American students in particular
- Respectful school environments in which parents can effectively exercise their human right to participate in schools and hold them accountable
- Vibrant parent and youth-led movement to dismantle policies and practices that contribute to the school-to-prison pipeline, locally, statewide, and nationally
- Increased public will and mobilization to protect and promote public education and the human rights of families in low-income communities of color
- Remaining an independent parent-led, membership organization with a comprehensive parent action and leadership development center in South LA
